Abstract

A study was made of esterase composition in muscle tissue extracts from field populations of Locusta migratoria migratorioides in Mali. Seasonal changes in esterase activity were noted in the seven types of esterase detected. Different levels of esterase activity occurred in males and females. The implication of these findings for taxonomic studies is discussed.
