Abstract

Objective To establish an atomic absorption spectrophotometric method for quantitative detection of lead content in glucose, and validate the feasibility of the method. Methods Standard addition technique was used to establish the atomic absorption spectrophotometric method for determination of lead in glucose. The linearity, accuracy and repeatability of the method were validated. Results The linearity of the method was good, and the linear coefficient of determination was >0.998. The added recoveries of lead were 95%-103%, and the relative standard deviation was 4%, indicating that the accuracy and repeatability of the method were good. Also the limit of quantitation (LOQ) was determined as 1.6×10-7. Conclusion The atomic absorption spectrophotometric method for determining lead content in glucose is established and the linearity, accuracy, repeatability and LOQ of the method all meet the requirements of current Chinese pharmacopoeia. Key words: Lead; Glucose; Spectrophotometry, atomic
