Abstract

The use of electronic mail (e-mail) in business is spreading rapidly; and in many organizations, the e-mail system is now the place for office gossip and other conversations unrelated to work. The “information mix” raises many moral and business issues that must be addressed. This article provides the tools to develop effective e-mail policies and controls for your enterprise, and examines the legal and privacy issues that must be considered.
