Abstract

Background: Anastomotic leakage (AL) is associated with increased short-term morbidity and mortality rates. The impact on long-term oncological outcomes remains unclear. The aim of this population-based study was to determine the impact of AL on long-term oncological outcomes of patients that underwent colon cancer (CC) or rectal cancer (RC) resection.
