Abstract

This presentation will show how technical managers can achieve greater success if provided with adequate people skills. Most times, managers are trained in the technical aspects of their field, however, the success of any organization often rests on the understanding of related people and management issues, rather than technical. Research has consistently demonstrated that when clear goals are associated with learning, it occurs more easily and rapidly. With that in mind, let‟s review our goals for today. At the end of this presentation, attendees should be able to: Discuss how soft management skills are important to success in the workplace. Understand the 10 key people management skills everyone should develop. Use soft skills to relate more effectively to others in the workplace. Understand how to use soft management skills to communicate, problem-solve, and resolve conflict. Apply soft people management skills to specific situations.
