Abstract
The essential oil of the Aeollanthus suaveolens, examined by GC/MS, is dominated by linalool (41.86±2.73%), linalyl acetate (15.83±2.18%) and (E)-β-farnesene (14.02%±0.70%) in flowering material versus vegetative material with linalool (35.58±0.61%), linalyl acetate (12.45±0.61%) and (E)-β-farnesene (17.07±1.37%). The distinct scent of coconut in A. suaveolens is provided by δ-decalactone (<0.01±0.01%) and massoia lactone (0.78±0.23%) in flowering material versus vegetative material with δ-decalactone (0.43±0.06%) and massoia lactone (7.07±0.11%)
