Essence and Structure of Professional Reliability of Railway Transport Specialists

Abstract

The priority of issues dedicated to safety in railway transport determines the specifics of the professional activity of railway transport specialists, which is represented by a set of basic professional functions that ensure the solution of professional tasks in process of operation, maintenance and repair of technical devices and traffic management systems. The contradiction between the request of Russian Railways for specialists who are ready to act effectively under the complex influence of occupational risks and insufficient representation of professional training of physiological, physical, psychological and personal indicators necessary to counter the factors of uncertainty, alternativeness, and danger is revealed. This contradiction requires clarification of the effective feature, taking into account specifics and features of the professional activity of railway transport specialists. The analysis of scientific research made it possible to determine the essence of the concept of "professional reliability" as an integrative feature of a person, the structure of which can be represented by a set of components, the justification of which is determined by the specifics and peculiarities of professional activity. The structure of professional reliability of railway transport specialists is represented by a combination of adaptive-regulatory, behavioural and communicative-reflexive components. The indicators of these components are expressed by the ability to resist the negative effects of professional risks.
