Abstract
ESR spectroscopy is applied to study the structural species in the formation of Mo−Ti oxide catalysts using Mo5+ ions as spin probes. Formation of a defect crystal structure of rutile with a predominant stabilization of Mo5+ ions in the interstitial positions of lowtemperature catalysts is proposed.
