Abstract
ESR ages were obtained for three members of Valles Rhyolite in New Mexico, U.S.A., using quartz. The ages obtained by using Al center were systematically younger than the ones using Ti center. The results of annealing experiments indicate that part of the centers could have been reduced while the samples had been buried. It is proposed to use a stable component of Ti centers for dating.
