Abstract
The present study aimed to know the meaning of spirituality for the team of the Oncological Interdisciplinary Home Care Program that assists the individual with cancer in palliative care. It is a descriptive and exploratory research of qualitative approach, which used the historical-cultural referential of Vygotsky. Data were collected, in 2009, through focus group with eight professionals from the health team of the Oncological Interdisciplinary Home Care Program Home Care Program, in a town in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul. From the study, two themes were obtained as a result: the meaning of spirituality in the self-construction and the meaning of spirituality in the collective construction. It is noteworthy, that during the development of research the working group was strengthened by the exchange of experiences and had the opportunity to discuss the various sides of spirituality in palliative care, reaffirming the need of its inclusion in the working process in health.

RESUMO O presente estudo teve como objetivo conhecer o significado de espiritualidade para a equipe do Programa de Internação Domiciliar Interdisciplinar Oncológico, que atende o ser humano portador de câncer em cuidados paliativos. A espiritualidade é um tema que vem chamando a atenção dos profissionais da saúde no que se refere ao cuidado humano, pelo fato der as pesquisas demonstrarem que este pode ser um caminho para melhorar a qualidade de vida dos enfermos, assim como estimular maior rapidez no processo de cura ou enfrentamento das doenças (2). Desta forma, este estudo teve por objetivo conhecer o significado de espiritualidade para a equipe interdisciplinar do PIDI Oncológico, que atende o ser humano portador de câncer em cuidados paliativos. Da análise resultaram os temas “Significado de espiritualidade na construção individual” “Significado de espiritualidade na construção coletiva”
