Abstract

The equivalent small-parameter method (ESP), is usually applied to acquire the analytical solution of a nonlinear system, due to its significant advantages of combining disturbance and harmonic balance methods. When considering the mechanism of the circuit components and the working principle of the circuit topology, DC/DC converters involve different scales during operation. In order to obtain analytical solutions for DC/DC converters at device level and circuit level scales, an improved ESP method is proposed. The specific device mechanism model was considered first in the process of modeling. And then the unified nonlinear description of the DC/DC converter, combining the state variables of device level and circuit level simultaneously, can be obtained. It is then solved and analyzed by the improved ESP method. Finally, the proposed method is verified by simulations and compared with other typical methods.
