Abstract

Forensic entomology is a branch of broader scientific fields as the medical entomology, anthropology, the taxonomy and forensic pathology. It is responsible of the associated with corpses, which secrete inhibitory substances. Its main characteristic is to detect the scent of dead on meat, from miles away. Forensic entomology is based on the time which leads an insect lay eggs and the ulterior development of larvae, so forensic team could study some findings. In this project, a pork leg was used as a prototype in order to analyze the entomologic and toxic processes. This leg was treated with the toxic carbofuran © that is mostly used in agriculture for pest control.
