Abstract

A constricting band containing tracheobronchial remnants produced esophageal stenosis in a one year old girl. Respiratory mucous glands and epithelium were present in the esophageal wall. Dilatation was unsuccessful in relieving the obstruction. Primary resection with reanastomosis is recommended for congenital strictures not amenable to dilatation.
