Abstract

There is a strong connection between the Bulgarian literature among its more than 11 centuries history and the capital of Byzantium Constantinopolis. It is process which we can describe as interaction in 9th and 10th centuries that are the starting periods of Old Bulgarian literature and before the country enters into the sovereignty of Ottoman in 14th century. Some personalities taking on characteristic roles in Bulgarian culture and literature as Constantin-Kiril Philosopher, Simeon, Chernorizets Hrabir, Yoan Eksarh carry Byzantium traditions during their educations in Magnaura Academy to their native lands in 9th–10th century. Besides, the representatives of the Tirnovo Shcool, Teodosiy Tirnovski, Evtimiy, Grigoriy Tsamblak, Kiprian coming in the first places stay in the Studion Monastery of which a characteristic is its being the most important religious and intellectual focus of Byzantim’s capital in the second half of 14th century.
