Abstract

Violence against the partner has various consequences in the victims and often has lethal consequences. This research developed the Risk Assessment Scale for Serious Violence against Women (RASV-W), which aims to identify the risk of occurrences of serious violence against the partner. The research was carried out in 7 cities in Perú and 598 women victims of intimate partner violence participated. The results showed adequate construct validity (CFI = .973, TLI = .964, RMSEA = .052, and RMRS = .0395, composite reliability > .70, and mean variance extracted > .50 for all factors) and diagnostic accuracy (AUC = .87), so the RASV-W scale is an adequate instrument that helps to assess the risk of serious violence against women within the sphere of the couple. The incorporation and predictive contribution of some risk factors in this type of instrument is discussed.
