Abstract

ObjectiveCarried out a specific methodology with respect to the epidemic/pandemic requires complex thinking regarding the challenges of each situation. Incorporating myths and fallacies of the general population. This study aims to validate a perception and beliefs questionnaire in medical and nursing students on the use of cinema to confront the complexity of a pandemic event, with the purpose of enhancing teaching strategies. MethodologyA total of 131 students were included. The reliability assessment was performed through the internal consistency analysis, the assessment of the 19 items through Pearson's correlation analysis, and the construct validity through exploratory factor analysis. ResultsItems showed acceptable reliability in five factors, with a Cronbach's alpha score of 0.72. The Cronbach's alpha score was 0.79 (92) on students with public health and epidemiology knowledge, and for those who did not have that knowledge, the alpha score was 0.59 (39). Items were not discharged from the instrument used. ConclusiónThe questionnaire showed to be reliable to guide the methodological process of teaching in the classroom on complex issues related to epidemics/pandemics. Nevertheless, it is necessary to expand its application and explore variability.
