Abstract
Liquid biopsy is an extremely powerful tool in cancer patients with several potential applications that range from early cancer detection/cancer interception to real-time monitoring during anticancer therapies and tumor genotyping in advanced disease. Over the last few years great attention has been focused on early cancer detection, using different methodological approaches and liquid biopsy sources, including circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), circulating tumor cells (CTCs), metabolomics, and micro-RNAs.
