Abstract

After 25 years’ experience of resuscitation with Yong Quan R-1 and extensive analysis of this acupuncture point, the author reviews several academic controversies surrounding its location and function. Emphasis is placed on the results obtained during life support measures, on subsequent neurological recovery and on the therapeutic principles supporting these results. The comments contained in this article are based on bibliographic references on the inclusion of R-1 in resuscitation protocols.
