Abstract

A great challenge for the development of religious tourism is the management of religious heritage tourism, to achieve a balance between being a place of worship and a tourist attraction, two functions that at first seem to be in opposition, but that can work hand in hand, achieving an organized and efficient activity. In Colombia, most of the religious heritage is still used as places of worship so they preserve their spiritual values and traditions; in the country's capital, Bogota, the vast majority of temples, churches and sanctuaries that belong to the cultural heritage belong to the Catholic Church. Many of these temples are considered tourist attractions because of their spiritual importance, history, beauty and artistic richness.
