Abstract

OZET Bu arastirmada, Erzurum kirac sartlarida yetistirilen mavi ayrik (Agropyron intermedium (Host.) THE EFFECTS OF ROW SPACING, NITROGEN AND PHOSPHORUS ON HAY AND CRUDE PROTEIN YIELDS AND PERCENTAGE OF CRUDE PROTEIN IN INTERMEDIATE WHEATGRASS (Agropyron intermedium (Host.) Beauv.) GROWN UNDER DRY CONDITIONS OF ERZURUM SUMMARY T his trial was established on the dry experimental areas of Agricultural Faculty of Ataturk University, Under dry condition, three row spacings of 40,80 and 120 cm and nine combinations of three nitrogen(0,5 and 10 kg N/da) with three phosphorus (0,25 and 5 kg P2O5/da) concantrations were used. The effects of the treatments on the hay, protein content of hay, and protein yield were studied throughout the 1978-1984. The results obtained in this study can be summarized as below. 1- The ejfect of row spacing was significant on protein and hay yieids, and portein content. The highest hay yield (302.8 kg/da) was obtained with 40 cm row spacing. The highest crude protein yield (375 kglda), and protein content (% 13.34) was obtained at 80 cm spacing. 2- The highest hay (358.3 kglda), and crude protein yields (52.8 kglda), and protein content (1450%) were detertrdned at 10 kg Nida treatment. 3- The effect of phosphorus was significant on hay yield. The highest hay yield (2665 kglda) was obtained at 2 5 kg P20olda treatment. No effect of phosphorus on crude protein yields and protein content of hay occured.
