Abstract
Abstract This chapter focuses on Erwinia amylovora, the causal agent of fire blight in pears (Pyrus communis) and apples (Malus domestica) in Canada. It provides an overview of the viruses (bacteriophages) and bacteria (Pseudomonas fluorescens and Pantoea agglomerans) that have been tested for its management, and the evaluation of effectiveness of these biological control agents. Future research prospects are recommended.
