Abstract

The TEA gas sensor with vanadate erbium (ErVO4) polyhedral structure was obtained by facile hydrothermal method. The XRD results show that the prepared sample was pure ErVO4 with a tetragonal structure. FESEM and TEM images indicate that the prepared ErVO4 were irregular particles with rough surface. The novel n-type ErVO4 gas sensor has a low operating temperature of 160 °C for TEA, as well as fast response/recovery time, outstanding stability and repeatability. In addition, the gas sensing mechanism was discussed in brief. Therefore, ErVO4 may be a promising gas sensitive material.
