Abstract

Tooth eruption time and sequence are important factors in dental treatment planning especially in orthodontics, but also in forensic dentistry to estimate age of a child. As the field of forensic dentistry grows in India, there is a need to find a reference range for eruption times in specific geographical regions of the country. In the present study study subjects were selected from schools in bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. The eruption of the permanent first molars were recorded and tabulated. It was found that there are differences in eruption times as compared with other studies in India and abroad.
