Abstract

When an ultra-wideband signal generator with high quality to be designed and implemented, The error must be analyzed and modeled. The error modeling of a UWB LFM signal generator is studied in this paper. The generator is based on a hybrid scheme that combines digital generation of the baseband and bandwidth extension through frequency doubling. The implementation scheme is introduced firstly. The error sources that can affect the UWB signal is then analyzed from three aspects such as baseband generation, I/Q modulation, frequency doubling and transformation. Finally the error model of the generator is established.
