Abstract

Errors in the eigenenergies of some molecular vibrations are estimated for the Hartree and Numerov integration schemes and it is shown how the estimates can be used to determine suitable step sizes. The global truncation errors of the eigenenergies are demonstrated to be of orders two and four, respectively, in the step size. Some numerical comparisons are made.
