Abstract
Error estimates are obtained for the finite-difference scheme in solving a one-dimensional heat equation. These estimates take into account the effect of initial and boundary conditions. The order of accuracy in a spatiotemporal rectangle is proved to be higher near the rectangle bottom and along the rectangle side on which the Dirichlet boundary condition is specified.
