Abstract
The errors are considered for an automated time-domain network analyzer based on a Tektronix sampling oscilloscope. Procedures are presented for removing the errors produced by two important sources: unwanted reflections associated with discontinuities and nonlinearities in the time base of the oscilloscope. The effectiveness of the error correction procedures is demonstrated by measurements of standard terminations with known reflection coefficients.
