Abstract

An analysis of the errors observed in measuring fabrics with the KES-F system is described. The difference between repeated measurements on the same sample is not significant for all practical purposes if the fabric is allowed to recover between tests. The variation of measured properties is more significant across the fabric width, than along a fabric length of similar distance. One compressional parameter, one shear parameter, and two tensile parameters show significant variation due to operator effects.
