In the Results section of the abstract, the first sentence states: ‘Dissimilarity declined with increasing distance between route pairs for occurrence and transformed abundance, reaching an asymptote at approximately 2500 km’. This is incorrect and should state: ‘Dissimilarity increased with increasing distance between route pairs for occurrence and transformed abundance, reaching an asymptote at approximately 2500 km’.
