Petersen, Cecilia Wentrup, Caroline Verna, Katrin Knittel, and Nicole Dubilier, “Origins and evolutionary flexibility of chemosynthetic symbionts from deep-sea animals,” we used the term “terebellid polychaete” to refer to Raricirrus beryli, a worm we sampled from a whale-fall. The taxonomic placement of this species at the Family and Order levels is currently under debate. Therefore, our use of the term “terebellid,” which can be understood to refer to the family Terebellidae, was confusing as R. beryli does not belong to the family Terebellidae, but may belong to either the Ctenodrilidae (e.g., Petersen and George, 1991) as the results of our COI sequences on page 126 indicate, or possibly to the Cirratulidae (e.g., Osborn and Rouse, 2011).Osborn, K.
