In addition, some of participants did not complete all the items during the survey, and therefore some data were missing. We provided a concise explanation on the discrepancy in the footnote. The corrected Table 1 is shown below. Table 1. Student’s t-test for continuous variables, Mann–Whitney U test for abnormally distributed data and Chi-square test for categorical variables. HOMA-IR, homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance, based on the following formula: fasting serum insulin (μU/ml) × fasting plasma glucose (mmol/l)/22.5; HDL-C, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol; LDL-C, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. * Noted that some of participants did not complete all the items during the survey, and therefore some data were missing. There were 316 missing values (men: 120, women: 196) for Education, 3339 missing values (men: 1216, women: 2123) for Yearly household income, 125 missing values (men: 36, women: 89) for Cigarette smoking, 228 missing values (men: 90, women: 138) for Alcohol drinking, 242 missing values (men: 102, women: 140) for Physical activity, 9181 missing values (men: 3509, women: 5672) for LDL-C, 8113 missing values (men: 3424, women: 4689) for HOMA-IR, and 6084 missing values (men: 2588, women: 3496) for Albumin excretion rate.
