Abstract
Tjalve, Vibeke Schou. 2018. “Comment on Arlie Hochschild’s ‘The Ecstatic Edge of Politics: Sociology and Donald Trump.’” Contemporary Sociology 47(2):250–251. (Original DOI: 10.1177/0094306118755398) On page 250 of this article from the March 2018 issue, the following sentence was stated incorrectly: “If the term ‘nostalgia’ applies to that experience at all, it does so purely in late-modern ways: as part of detached and strategic projects of identity-making, no less aware of the ultimately constructed nature of meaning and language than the multicultural left that I so vehemently oppose.” The sentence should read as follows with the changed portion bolded for emphasis: “If the term ‘nostalgia’ applies to that experience at all, it does so purely in late-modern ways: as part of detached and strategic projects of identity-making, no less aware of the ultimately constructed nature of meaning and language than the multicultural left that it (the New American Right) so vehemently opposes.”
