Abstract
The integral cross sections (ICSs) for the electron impact excitation of the 3P-1D transition in atomic oxygen calculated by Plummer et al. (J. Phys. B, 37, 2979 (2004)) were incorrectly represented in Fig. 3. An error was made calibrating the impact energy axis (i.e., the x axis) while digitizing the curve from the original publication. The corrected figure is, therefore, provided. Further, the “continuous line” in Fig. 3 was incorrectly labelled in the caption as “Zatsarinny (26-state approximation)” when it should have read “Zatsarinny and Tayal (26-state approximation).” The corrected figure does not impact any of the discussion provided in the original paper. However, one should note that, as seen in the corrected figure, the Plummer et al. (J. Phys. B, 37, 2979 (2004)) calculation of the 3P–1D transition is in near perfect agreement with that of Zatsarinny and Tayal (J. Phys. B, 34, 1299 (2001)) as is the case for the 3P–1S transition shown in Fig. 4. (See next page for figure.)
