Abstract

In the May/June 2015 issue of Public Health Reports (PHR), in an article by Rappeler on adolescent health and teen pregnancy (“Adolescent health and teen pregnancy in the United States: a progress report,” p. 196–8), there was an error in wording in the first paragraph of text. The sentence reading, “Other data indicate that approximately one in eight adolescent females will become pregnant before they reach age 20 (Unpublished data. Welti K. Percentage of teens who experience a first birth based on analyses of National Center for Health Statistics 2012 final birth data)” should have read, “Other data indicate that approximately one in nine adolescent females will give birth by their 20th birthday (Unpublished data. Cook E. Percentage of teens who experience a first birth based on analyses of National Center for Health Statistics 2013 final birth data).” In an article by VerLee et al. in the January/February 2012 issue of PHR (“Michigan Clostridium difficile hospital discharges: frequency, mortality, and charges, 2002–2008,” p. 62–71), there was an error in Table 1 in calculating the rate of Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) per 100,000 discharges. The reported total of 804.1 CDI per 100,000 discharges should have been 734.6 CDI per 100,000 discharges. Also, the total of CDI per 100,000 population, reported as 108.5 CDI per 100,000 population, should be corrected to 98.7 CDI per 100,000 population.
