Abstract

The occurrence of two major erosion surfaces in south-central and western New York is substantiated and a correlation with those of western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio suggested. A younger surface and a strath are found in the northern portion of western and central New York, although they are largely concealed by glacial drift. The effect of structure upon the development and preservation of these surfaces is considered.
