Abstract

The present article gives experimental results on the effect of the velocity and temperature of the blown gas flow (Tg) on the erosion combustion of ballistic powders. Two compositions (A and B)were investigated for a maximal combustion temperature of 1600~ The combustion rate of powder A is 1.4 times greater than the combustion rate of powder B. The experiments were made with a pressure of 60 arm. The basic elements of the experimental unit and the analysis of the data are described in detail in [2, 7]. All the tests were made using powdered cylindrical samples with a length of 4.5 cm and a diameter of 1.0 cm. The burning surface of the powders was blown by a gas flow having a temperature of 1600, 2300, and 3400~
