Abstract
ABSTRACTUniversity System of Maryland & Affiliated Institutions (USMAI) librarians are actively pursuing the application of long tail theory to electronic resources management (ERM) for the USMAI library consortium. USMAI ERM staff established a framework for consortial governance of electronic resources and are “reaching out” to other library consortia to share ideas and pursue collective projects, with the eventual goal of taking advantage of the leverage that long tail ERM policies and procedures can offer to library consortia.
