Abstract

Abstract—.Introduction. Eosinophilic annular erythema, initially described in childhood, is a rare, benign, self-limited disease characterized by the presence of recurrent annular erythematous lesions, normally located on the trunk and limbs. Its course is recurrent, with disease-free intervals. The histological study shows a perivascular infiltrate at the dermis level, with lymphocytes and eosinophils. Peripheral blood eosinophilia is not usually found. Its etiology is unknown. Treatment with synthetic antimalarials has proven to be effective in the reporting cases.A 59-year-old male consulted his physician because he had presented with urticarial papules and non-pruritic recurrent annular lesions on the trunk for three months. The biopsy showed a predominantly perivascular lymphocytic infiltrate with eosinophils in the dermis. The disease spontaneously remitted in 10 months.
