Considering the decisive importance of fecundity on the whole'Finnish cattle-breeding industry, the author has tried in the following research, which still is in its first phases, to bring forth some points of view, with which the selection of animals to be bred together could be made still more effective

Summary
7.74±0.32 itäsuomalaisissa karjoissa sitävastoin on paljon harvinaisempaa. Että tämä erilaisuus aiheutuu ulkonaisista olosuhteista, lähinnä tällöin ruokinnasta ja hoidosta. Nämähän ovat Lounais-Suomen alueella keskimäärin voimapcräiscmmät kuin Kuopion läänin maanviljelysseuran alueella, josta tutkimuksen itäsuomalaista karjaa koskeva aineisto on kerätty. Että ayrshirelehmät ovat olleet jonkin verran nuoremmat kuin maatiaislehmät ensimmäisen kerran kaksosia synnytettyään. 10 vuotta (47), on mielenkiintoista todeta, että yli 10 vuotta vanhoja kaksosia antaneita lehmiä on ayrshirekarjoissa ollut 15.9 % kaksosia antaneiden ay-lehmien kokonaismäärästä, länsisuomalaisia lehmiä vastaavasti 19.6 % ja itäsuomalaisia lehmiä 25.7 %.
