Abstract

Ergonomics is applied science of equipment design (for the workplace) intended to maximize productivity by reducing the operator’s fatigue and discomfort. Ergonomics is the science of fitting jobs to people. PT. Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) VIII is one of the state-owned plantations. One of the estates that manage tea plantation is on the estate Ciater, Subang. In the process of plucking tea, a machine was not involved alone, as the transportation of tea to the factories is done by a truck. Workers bring large bags on the head to the position where sacks are stored in such a posture that triggers Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). MSDs are the disorders in soft tissues and the nervous system. This research will be designed as a tool work for alleviating gripes pain experienced by workers in PT. Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) VIII uses REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment) that is a method taken into account for handling a system work. The result from REBA will be taken as input to make an ergonomic tool for tea transport process.
