Abstract

The calibration experiment is described of a full absorption Čerenkov counter made of lead glass for energy measurements of γ-quanta and electrons with energies of several GeV. The counter has been tested by monoenergetic electrons within the energy range between 0.5 and 3.0 GeV. The Čerenkov counter pulse amplitude versus electron energy follows a linear law within the indicated energy range. The energy resolution of the spectrometer, determined as the ratio of pulse amplitude distribution curve half-width to pulse amplitude maximum, for 1.0 GeV electrons has been measured to be 29%.
