Abstract

Summary The tensors and parameters of die space deformations of the Earth's crust could be calculated from the changes of the space rectangular coordinates of geodetic networks points. Coordinate changes could be determined by the repeated geodetic measurements. Components of the space deformation tensor are estimated by finite elements method. As a finite element, the tetrahedron, the vertexes of which are points of geodetic network, is accepted. Components of the space deformation tensor are calculated from the formula (3). After splitting tensor (2) into two parts (6 and 7), it is possible to separate the rotation and its own element deformations of the element as an absolutely solid body. The features of the own deformations are obtained from the symmetric tensor (6). Projections of the main deformations into coordinate axes are calculated by solving equation system (12). Orientation angles of the main deformations are calculated from (16–18) formulas. In analysing deformations in local territories it...
