Abstract

We experimentally demonstrated the all-fiber erbium-doped mode-locked fiber laser based on the evanescent field interaction with hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite CH 3 NH 3 PbI 3 as saturable absorber (SA). We have fabricated the SA by pressing the high quality CH 3 NH 3 PbI 3 film onto the flat side of the D-shaped fiber. The intensity-dependent nonlinear optical absorption of SA has been investigated, and its saturation intensity and modulation depth have been extracted to be 29 MW cm -2 and 9.6%, respectively. By incorporating the SA into the erbium-doped fiber laser, stable mode-locked pulse with pulse duration of 1.13 ps has been delivered from it. The experimental results can further prove the hybrid organicinorganic perovskites' application potential in nonlinear optics and ultrafast photonics.
