Abstract

Many exciting developments are occurring in esthetic, restorative materials. Today, materials are considered in terms of their biologic effects and tests to predict in vivo behavior are needed. Recently, more nondental manufacturers have begun to introduce products and the number of foreign products has also increased. Dentists and materials scientists are currently interested in: microleakage, bonding mechanisms, dentin-bonding agents, polyacrylic acid systems, and composite resins.
