Abstract

The structure of equivariant cohomology behind recently developed localization schemes is discussed. A description of equivariant cohomology in terms of two nilpotent operators is developed. Various geometric quantum actions are shown to arise as momentum maps of group actions on the loop space. The equivariant BRST symmetry that arises can be used to localize the path integral.
