Abstract
The problem of motion of a dynamically symmetric gyrostat acted upon by non-symmetric potential forces admitting a cyclic integral is considered. This problem is brought into equivalence with another one concerning the motion of a similar gyrostat under the action of axisymmetric potential forces. Using this analogy, new integrable cases of each of the two problems are obtained from the known cases of the other. The equations of motion are reduced to a single equation of the second order.
