Abstract

This paper describes the equivalent circuit of a cylindrical linear induction motor (CLIM) with unbalanced phases for the linear elevator. The average magnetic flux density is 0.55 [T], and the unbalance factors, Γ, of the entry-end and exit-end are 78% and 112%, respectively, at a primary current, I1, of 15 [A] and an exciting frequency, f, of 12 [Hz]. An equivalent circuit of the CLIM was made on the basis of the lock test and measured magnetic flux density. The characteristics of the starting thrust and the thrust ripple, calculated by means of the equivalent circuit, agreed with the measured characteristics with an error of less than 10%.
