Abstract

An equivalent circuit model of double hexagonal loops frequency selective surface (FSS) was established. The formulas of LC parameters were proposed with equivalent repetition period. The reflection frequency, transmission frequency, and the location of first modal interaction null were simulated, and the results showed a good agreement in full-wave simulation result. On this basis, an ultra-wideband composite absorbing material (CAM) was proposed, and its equivalent circuit model was also established. A sample was fabricated and measured to verify the validity of the model. The results showed a good ultra-wideband absorbing performance in the range of 1.9–8.9 GHz.
