Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate the fairness of TCM resource allocation in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals in Hubei province in 2017 from the perspectives of population, geography and regional space, so as to provide reference for rational planning of regional spatial allocation of TCM resources. Technology or Method: ArcGIS software is used to conduct descriptive analysis on the fairness of TCM resource allocation in regional space, and gini coefficient and Thiel index are used to comprehensively evaluate the population and geographical fairness of TCM resource allocation. RESULTS: Gini coefficients calculated by population and geography were between 0.0178–0.2728 and 0.1660–0.4215 respectively, and the total Theil index of each TCM resource index ranges from 0.0133–0.2520. Clinical or Biological Impact: The per capita ownership of traditional Chinese medicine resources varies greatly among regions, The geography distribution in traditional Chinese medicine resources is better than that in population. The internal and inter-regional differences affect the fairness of resource allocation.
