Abstract

The antibodies against equine infectious anemia (EIA) in a total of 631 equids from 6 different geographic regions in Turkey were investigated by using agar gel immunodiffusion (AGID) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) tests. Serum samples collected between May and October 2003 and between May and October 2004 from 69 mules, 154 donkeys, and 408 horses were examined for a survey in Turkey with a new aspect of EIA. There was no evidence of EIA infection among these equids in Turkey.
